Deoxyribonucleic Acid (2019)
Light Installation
Created in collaboration with Michael Guggenbichler and Johannes Traun, Deoxyribonucleic Acid reveals the inner core of the human being the element that, from a biological perspective, constitutes our individuality. Using light as its primary medium, the work makes visible a fundamental building block of our existence.
The installation explores the tension between fixed biological conditions, embodied in the sculptural structure, and the potential for change and transformation within these given frameworks. These processes are visualized through animated light sequences, inviting visitors to reflect on the relationship between determination and transformation.
Through the installation, viewers physically and mentally experience the transition from something seemingly static to something dynamic. Perspective plays a crucial role in how these changes are perceived: depending on the viewer’s position, both form and meaning shift. The continuous movement of the visualization generates a dramaturgy of forms in which light interacts with motion and structure.
