Remission (2025)
NFT Collection
Remission is a digital art series of six paired works that examines the intersection of chronic illness, access to care, and the economic structures that determine who gets to heal — and who does not.
Each image is drawn from endoscopic footage taken during routine colonoscopies throughout a period of remission. By placing personal medical imagery within an economic frame, Remission exposes the quiet violence of health inequity and asks what it means when the possibility of healing becomes a commodity.
The editions are visually almost identical. The body remains the same. The illness remains the same. What changes is the structure around it.
The project is rooted in my experience with Crohn’s disease. After surgery and years of unstable treatment, remission arrived only with a biologic drug, a fragile state sustained not by recovery alone, but by continuous and costly medical care.
